Stephanie Azubike, Ph.D., is an energy and sustainability researcher whose work spans renewable energy, energy systems, environmental science, and public policy. Her interests center on understanding how scientific research, emerging technologies, and policy can work together to advance a more resilient and sustainable energy future.
Before joining Project Drawdown, Stephanie worked with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy supporting initiatives across wind, water power, solar, and geothermal energy. Her work has also included research on hydrogen production, distributed energy resources, net metering, and energy policy. She brings experience in interdisciplinary research, GIS and spatial analysis, technical writing, and translating complex scientific and technical topics for policy and broader audiences.
Stephanie holds a Ph.D. in applied science and technology from North Carolina A&T State University, an M.S. in earth science from North Carolina Central University, and a B.S. in biology from Tennessee State University.
Outside of her work, Stephanie enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
